Bereavement & Consolation

Our faith calls us to be Christ to one another. Because of this call, the Saint Rose Consolation Ministry Team dedicates itself to reaching out with caring support to provide spiritual, emotional, and social comfort to those who are grieving the death of a loved one.

Bereavement Support Groups

Twice a year, Saint Rose offers a nine-week support group using the book The New Day Journal: A Journey from Grief to Healing.

Holidays and Everydays is a parish program held in late October each year and is designed to help those who are grieving to face the coming holidays.

For more information on these parish bereavement programs, please contact Susie Waible-Rose, Bereavement Ministry and Sacramental Outreach Ministry Coordinator, at (419) 704-4641. More information is also available from the parish office.

Hospice of Northwest Ohio, located on East River Road in Perrysburg, also offers an array of support groups and workshops for those dealing with grief. All groups are free of charge and open to everyone in the community, whether or not they have any previous connection or involvement with Hospice of Northwest Ohio. For more information, visit their website or call their bereavement support team at (419) 661-4001

Consolation Ministry

The Saint Rose Consolation Ministry Team provides support for funeral service held at Saint Rose Church and, as needed, for parishioners holding services at nearby funeral homes.

Helping Hands Ministry

Helping Hands is part of the Saint Rose Bereavement and Consolation Ministry. It provides comfort, hospitality, and luncheons in the church basement for grieving families after funeral services. Volunteers to cook and serve food are always needed and welcomed!
